Xiao initiated the collaboration between Asics and VW. From reaching out to her contact at Asics to initial dialog with Asics creative team. She then formalised a brief that worked for Asics and also more importantly for VW. She then championed the design and development right through to the launch over a 4 year period, coordinating between teams in UK, Japan and China, and also far east factories and suppliers. 

Drop 1 shapes were chosen by Xiao, adapting Asics classic shapes with creative materials and colour combinations.

Drop 1 was released in Spring Summer 2019 and instantly sold out around the world.
